ATT 3g and EDGE Data are down.
This sucks. No Pandora for me on my ride to work today. No email once I got to the office and no way to post to my blog via my iPhone. I called ATT and they confirmed that the Data networks for EDGE and 3g are down and should be up in the next two hours. My outage started at 7am. Its now 845am and its still down and they dont plan on getting it back for at least two more hours. For a 300.00 phone and 120.00 a month for the service, I really expect much more reliability. 5 or 10 mins down every now and then is acceptable. Hours of down time during peak usage times? Not. What can you do. ATT and iPhone have me hooked. I cant take the phone to Verizon so I can have a team of hard hat wearing people following me around ensuring that my network is working. So I guess I have to suffer with a very expensive iPod for a few more hours. 
Just FYI - I have 2 iPhones that are down, but I also have a Blaclberry 8820 that is up and running fine on Edge (as are the rest of our corporate Blackberries). I didn’t realize AT&T was segmenting their network. Wonder if it’s an Apple problem?
As of 1032am I still cant access the net with my iPhone, both of my co-workers confirm the same. I called ATT again, on hold for 30 mins. Still no ETA on when they will have this fixed.
Where are you located? I’m in St. Louis and I can confirm the same right now.

I can’t believe it - this $320 iphone isn’t worth ANYTHING to me without a network - what’s going on with ATT’s connectivity????

Its an overpriced iPod without the data network!
Just confirmed with someone else here at work who has a 1st generation iPhone - they can’t connect either
Virginia Beach VA - Out as well. Its now close to lunch time and their is still no service.
The question that I have now is…will I get a refund on the data package that is not being used. Not that the money is an issue, but when thousands of customers call and request a refund for services not provided then possibly the “network gurus” will realize that they need a better system with redundancy.

No EDGE in Boston either. My iPhone stopped fetching email at 3 o’clock this morning. No web either.

Same here in Wichita, KS. Blackberry worked fine the whole time. I’ll be interested to hear why that was (if we’re ever told).
Be patient. Even Blackberries have outages and they’re much worse.
At least blackberry users have a few networks to choose from. It really sucks that iPhone locked in to ATT, gives no leverage to take the phone somewhere else. Though I dont know how much better Sprint, TMobile or Verizon would be.
